Toowoomba - Round 4

Mark Robinson took out round 4 of the Rooster’s Cup at Charlton Raceway on Saturday (26th January.) Queensland locals Matt Pascoe and Darren Latimer came across the line for second and third respectively.

 Robinson, who went into the round in second position overall for the series, demonstrated his skill and speed amongst equally as talented drivers, and will be a hot contender coming into the Australian title in February.

 Heat racing was fast and thrilling with defending Rooster’s Cup champion Luke Oldfield winning both his heats and placing him as the night’s top point scorer. Andrew Pezzutti, Latimer, Robinson and Lance Towns each won a heat race in their own right, and with Oldfield drawing the 6 inversion for the feature, Towns would lead the field for his maiden pole start.

Maryborough - Round 2

International driver Gary Tomkins took out a fast and exciting round two of the Rooster’s Cup series at Maryborough speedway on Saturday (December 1). Former Australian champion Mark Robinson finished a close second with Matt Pascoe rounding out the podium finishers.

The race was only the second on Australian soil for the New York State local and he backed up the win with dominate driving in heat racing, a first and third placing securing him as the night’s top point scorer.

Current Australian Champion Tim Morse, having made the long journey from Victoria also took out a heat race win together with New South Wales locals Rian Collier and Aaron Suffolk.

Toowoomba - Round 1

The annual Rooster’s Cup series commenced for the 2007/08 season at Charlton Raceway on Saturday (November 17) with defending champion Luke Oldfield taking out a spectacular feature. Mark Robinson finished in second with Ray Eggins a respectable third. The field of twenty-one cars put on a spectacular display with competitors form across Queensland and New South Wales, along with Victoria’s Tim Morse and an American-built Bicknell car driven by Ray Klarich.

The night started with ominous weather over head and light rains that postponed proceedings, before heat racing kicked off. Heat races were won by Rookie Peter Britton, Evan Flewell-Smith, Scott Conlin, Scott Cannon, Oldfield and an absolutely motoring Tim Morse.

An incident between Andrew Pezzutti and Tim Morse in their second heat resulted in significant damage to both cars, Pezzutti having to repair a broken front end and Morse working on diff problems.

Once again the Roosters Cup is almost upon us.

This years series is shaping up to be an exciting one with not one but two Americans set to Grace our shores. 

We will be welcoming Gary Tomkins and Jimmy Phelps who will will be taking part in various rounds throughout this series.
